About The Position

This role involves originating all types of 1-4 family residential loans. The Mortgage Loan Originator II will counsel and communicate with prospective borrowers to determine applicable loan products, learning various borrowing programs and processes, and staying current with changes and new products. The position requires receiving and taking applications conveniently for the member, assisting them in completing accurate applications and acquiring supporting documentation. Responsibilities include assisting members with closing contingencies promptly, gathering additional information required for mortgage closing as requested by underwriting, and maintaining a status report of all loans in process. The role also requires performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Three to five years of similar or related experience.
• Must be S.A.F.E Act registered through NMLS or have at least one (1) year of mortgage or financial services experience AND become S.A.F.E. Act registered through NMLS upon hire.
• Ability to represent America's First Federal Credit Union in a professional manner projecting the image of 'Member Focused Service'.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred knowledge of HFLMC/FNMA, FHA, VA and other general mortgage lending procedures and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Receive and take applications convenient to the member and work with the member in the completion of an accurate application and acquisition of supporting documentation.
• Assist members with closing contingencies in a prompt and timely manner.
• Gather additional information required for the closing of the mortgage which is requested by underwriting in a timely manner and maintain a status report of all loans in process.
• Maintain prescribed system report of all loans in process and report regularly to leadership on the status of all leads and loans being worked.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
