About The Position

The Mortgage Loan Officer performs the core duties of a mortgage lender, including taking applications, underwriting loans, and closing mortgage transactions. This role is also responsible for developing new business, maintaining and servicing an existing loan portfolio, and advising borrowers on questions related to their financial status.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Three (3) years of Mortgage Lending Experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Able to Quickly Learn New Software
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must Obtain NMLS Status Within 60 Days Upon Hiring

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) Years’ Experience in a Financial Setting
  • Five (5) Years’ Experience in Mortgage Lending

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates strong working knowledge of all bank products, services, policies and procedures.
  • Be able to underwrite, approve and close or deny mortgage loans per Legence Bank’s Loan Policy and FreddieMac Guidelines.
  • Be able to underwrite per RocketMortgage TPO guidelines.
  • Utilize sales management training and tools to identify and refer current and prospective clients.
  • Effectively partner with other team members and departments to deliver the full complement of Legence Bank products and services.
  • Build external relationships through meeting with realtors, participating in civic groups and attending networking functions throughout the bank network.
  • Cross-sell applicable products and services to existing portfolio customers to help make Legence their primary bank.
  • Work with Branch Managers and their teams to assist and acquire new prospective customer relationships.
  • Prospect for clients independently by utilizing referral sources, existing customers, and centers of influence.
  • Be an ambassador for Legence Bank within the community through participation in bank sponsored events, philanthropic opportunities and civic events.
  • Adhere to all Legence Bank and AFMFS service standards, serving as an example to other team members, as well to our customers.
  • Represent and promote the company within the community through participation in bank sponsored events, philanthropic opportunities and civic events.
