About The Position

The Mortgage Loan Officer prospects, establishes and maintains relationships with customers and referral partners, including realtors, vendors, and contractors. This role involves providing mortgage lending product and service expertise to meet and exceed established lending goals, staying within established lending limits, ensuring loan quality, and contributing to the Bank's growth. The position requires active community involvement and a strong understanding of mortgage lending policies, procedures, and compliance.

Requirements

3-5 years related (sales) experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to interpret and use data for decision making.

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university preferred.

Responsibilities

Solicit and sell 1 - 4 family loans through self-motivated marketing efforts, including sales calls, home-buyer seminars, Realtor and Homebuilders Association functions, Parade of Homes, and Home Shows.
Actively participate in community activities as an involved member.
Interview customers to obtain financial histories, including income, assets, investments, and debts.
Analyze customer financial information to meet their needs by educating them on mortgage loan products and advising them on additional services or programs.
Prepare residential loan applications completely, accurately, and in compliance with Federal guidelines and Gate City Bank’s policies and procedures.
Assist loan origination staff with the loan process.
Respond with a sense of urgency to required documentation.
Meet established personal production goals and assist in achieving the Bank’s annual production goals.
Prospect, build, and maintain relationships with real estate brokers, local builders and contractors, and other sources for continued production.
Demonstrate knowledge of all current policies, procedures, and compliance pertaining to mortgage loans, including CRA.
Deliver a consistently exceptional service experience for both team members and customers.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with team members, leaders, customers, and external partners.
Demonstrate reliability and accountability in attendance to support operational needs and service expectations.
Comply with all Gate City Bank policies, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
Maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all responsibilities.
Exercise sound judgment and make timely decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Utilize approved AI-enabled tools and technologies to enhance productivity, support problem-solving and decision-making, and drive efficiencies while adhering to company policies, privacy standards, and responsible use expectations.
