Requirements

• Hold a mortgage banking license under DFI (Department of Financial Institutions) and NMLS.
• Have a thorough understanding of FHA, VA, Fannie Mae, USDA, and other conventional loans.
• Demonstrate communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Be able to earn clients’ trust and build relationships with clients of varied backgrounds.
• Be professional, approachable, empathetic, responsive, and positive.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a Mortgage Loan Originator and/or Financial Sales Specialist, with a verifiable sales track record.

Responsibilities

• Research loan options and help clients through the application, approval, and closing process.
• Build relationships with real estate agents and applicants to encourage repeat business and long-term partnerships.
• Attend industry events to network, make contacts, and generate business leads.
• Host or attend promotional events to network and promote products to potential clients.
• Stay informed about local real estate market trends, current and predicted lending rates, and changes in mortgage rules, regulations, and best practices.
• Explain approval requirements for different mortgage types to clients.
• Prepare and present lending packages based on client specifications.
• Assist clients with mortgage applications and review completed documents for accuracy and thoroughness.
• Pursue leads, manage the loan pipeline, follow up on missing data or documentation, and ensure timelines are met.
• Build strong working relationships with customers, team members, agents, and business partners.
