Requirements

  • Full-time schedule (40 hours/week)
  • Requires a High School diploma
  • 3 years of mortgage experience
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and member service skills.
  • Must satisfy all requirements of the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and complete the registration process as needed.
  • Microsoft Outlook or similar email/calendar program knowledge.
  • Experience with job-specific computer systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Credit union or financial institution experience is a plus.
  • At least two years credit union operations knowledge (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage lending products (preferred).
  • Accounting, Loan, and Member Rep background helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Interview mortgage applicants and quote rates and payments.
  • Prepare necessary documents for mortgage and HELOC approvals including credit bureaus, debt ratio, verifications, etc.
  • Prepare documents for mortgage closings.
  • Perform closings both in office and at offsite locations.
  • Order Title Insurance, appraisals, surveys, flood determination, and inspections.
  • Work closely with appraisers and title companies.
  • Input all mortgages into Loan Producer and collect source documents.
  • Update and prepare annual HMDA Reports.
  • Make sure collection comments are up to date.
  • Monitor balloon mortgage review dates and contact members accordingly.
  • Prepare discharges.
  • Process payoff requests and post payoffs.
  • Respond to emails and phone calls in a timely manner.
  • Attend outside seminars.
  • Establish and maintain a referral relationship with area realtors for a consistent referral exchange along with regular visits to realty offices to procure new referrals.
  • May answer statement calls, balance inquiries, or calls on credit union services.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and adheres to the requirements of all federal, state, and local laws, including those of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), as it specifically relates to the job functions.
