About The Position

The Mortgage Loan Officer - Retail position provides Simply the Best customer service to each customer at all times. The role develops mortgage loan business through internal and external referral sources and builds and maintains business relationships within the community. The officer advises customers on mortgage loan options, financial products, and loan applications, and provides customer service throughout the process from approval through closing, coordinating with loan origination sources to secure and verify information required for underwriting.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
One or more years of mortgage loan origination experience, preferably at a bank.
NMLS license.

Bachelor's degree.
Knowledge of mortgage loan products, including conventional, FHA/VA, construction lending, and portfolio programs.
Knowledge of mortgage procedures, documentation, and underwriting guidelines.

Responsibilities

Develop new and expand internal and external referral sources to grow mortgage business.
Use consultative selling techniques to advise clients on mortgage loan options and other financial products.
Provide customer service from approval through closing, working closely with loan origination sources to secure and verify all information required for underwriting.
Maintain client relationships.
Advise customers on completing loan applications.
Perform other duties as assigned.
