  • Familiarity with secondary mortgage market underwriting, pricing, operations, and requirements as well as all consumer lending regulations.

  • Nationwide Multistate Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) licensure is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Originate first mortgages, including conducting pre-qualification interviews, preparing loan application packages and documentation.
  • Communicate policies for extension of credit in accordance with MSGCU and secondary investor guidelines.
  • Meet production expectations and serve members, prospective members, builders, developers, and real estate agents promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain production levels at or above documented required funding goals and Minimum Production Standards through consultative phone selling, prospecting, and member service.
  • Complete phone mortgage origination via inbound and outbound calling utilizing various lead sources.
  • Cultivate and maintain internal and external referral sources by attending loan closings, networking events, cold calling, follow-up, and referrals.
  • Implement effective strategies to ensure members have a positive experience with MSGCU products and services.
  • Perform loan origination activities, including accurately reading, interpreting, and applying financial and numerical information to the loan file.
  • Adhere to federal and state regulations, secondary market, and MSGCU policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Utilize persuasive sales and effective follow-up to maximize lead pull-through to closing.
  • Employ a consultative approach and ask high-impact questions to identify and meet member needs, offering effective solutions and cross-selling MSGCU products and services.
  • Travel throughout the branch network to strengthen relationships and collaborate with assigned branch teams to increase referrals and drive mortgage loan growth.
  • Communicate mortgage updates and provide recommendations for identifying new opportunities.
  • Respond to branch team members in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform follow-up work to achieve conditional approval within established time frames.
  • Provide consistent and effective communication to all parties of the loan transaction from pre-approval through funding.
  • Follow up on cancelled and pre-approved applications.
  • Maintain referral sources and member relationships after closing through post-closing activities.
