About The Position

This role focuses on originating compliant mortgage loans, with a particular emphasis on serving Low-to-Moderate Income (LMI) and majority-minority census tracts. The Mortgage Community Development Loan Officer will advise customers on suitable mortgage options, gather necessary documentation for loan applications, and manage the loan pipeline to ensure efficient processing. A key aspect of this role involves developing and maintaining strategic relationships with community partners, conducting financial wellness and homebuyer education workshops, and representing the bank at community events. The position requires a strong understanding of federal, state, and investor regulations, as well as bank policies, while maintaining high standards of client satisfaction and workflow efficiency. The role also involves managing client referrals and tracking community development activities.

Requirements

  • Originate compliant mortgage loans with a focus on, but not limited to, LMI and majority-minority census tracts
  • Advise customers on mortgage loans that are appropriate for their individual financial circumstances
  • Gather all information necessary for documentation, analysis, disclosure and underwriting loan applications
  • Ensure loans in process are moving through the pipeline by regularly reviewing pipeline, communicating with borrowers and processors on additional items needed, interacting with title companies, realtors, attorneys, etc.
  • Responsible for knowing and complying with all Federal, State and investor regulations, requirements, and bank policies
  • Maintain high standards of client satisfaction and quality, and ensure sales/originator systems and workflows are efficiently controlled
  • Manage client referrals to ensure all new customers are introduced to local branches and other appropriate business lines.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with community partners
  • Attend affordable homeownership programs and services educational seminars, trainings, and workshops.
  • Track and report out on all community development activities (date, event/training, targeted market reached, number of attendees, evaluation, memos, notes, etc.)
  • Represent CB&T at community focused events and meetings
  • Maintain list of key strategic community partners.
  • Conduct financial wellness, homebuyer education workshops, and homeownership seminars with local community and affordable housing partners
  • Coordinate and staff CB&T Sponsored, community and partner events and activities for the market area of Caddo Parish and Bossier Parish (such as nonprofit events, housing fairs, community event vendor booths, etc.)
  • Attend CB&T Community Development training opportunities
