We are seeking an experienced Closing Manager to lead and oversee the loan closing process from clear-to-close through funding. This role is responsible for managing a team of closers, ensuring compliance with investor and regulatory guidelines, and delivering a smooth, accurate, and timely closing experience for borrowers, brokers, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of mortgage industry experience, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of loan closing processes, documents, and compliance requirements
  • Experience with agency and investor guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, Non-QM preferred)
  • Familiarity with Loan Origination Systems (e.g., Encompass) and closing platforms
  • Deep understanding of TRID, RESPA, and closing disclosure requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage high-volume pipelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in wholesale or correspondent lending environments
  • Knowledge of Non-QM and DSCR loan products
  • Proven track record of improving processes and team performance

Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor a team of Closers including hiring, training, and performance management
  • Oversee pipeline to ensure all loans are closed accurately and on time
  • Review closing disclosures (CDs) and settlement statements for accuracy and compliance
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, investor, and company guidelines (e.g., TRID, RESPA)
  • Coordinate with underwriting, processing, funding, and third-party vendors to resolve issues and meet deadlines
  • Monitor workflows and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex closing scenarios and borrower/broker concerns
  • Maintain strong relationships with title companies, escrow officers, and external partners
  • Track and report on closing metrics, turn times, and team performance
  • Ensure proper post-closing handoff to funding and shipping teams
