As a Mortgage Advisor, a typical day might include conducting mortgage application interviews of applicants generated through established contacts, developing contacts in the real estate industry and other outside sources to produce additional mortgage loans, ensuring all client contact, disclosures, and client involvement are done in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, developing proficiency in lending guidelines for all investors and correspondent relationships with FORUM Mortgage and keeping informed of the changes in the mortgage industry, and ensuring a smooth and timely mortgage process and closing by pre-qualifying applicants, counseling customers on the mortgage products and the process, submitting borrower files to Underwriting for Pre-Approval, obtaining all necessary documents and information, and keeping all involved parties up-to-date on the status of the loan.

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • Sales and/or financial industry experience required
  • Must be able to obtain NMLS # and meet all State and Federal requirements.
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office software)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct mortgage application interviews of applicants generated through established contacts: SEGs, Direct Requests, Payoff Requests, Expired Applications, FORUM Marketing Events, and Outside Referral Sources etc.
  • Develop contacts in the real estate industry and other outside sources to produce additional mortgage loans by performing pre-pre-approvals and providing borrower education.
  • Ensure all client contact, disclosures, and client involvement are done in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Develop proficiency in lending guidelines for all investors and correspondent relationships with FORUM Mortgage and keep informed of the changes in the mortgage industry.
  • Ensure a smooth and timely mortgage process and closing by pre-qualifying applicants.
  • Counseling customers on the mortgage products and the process.
  • Submitting borrower files to Underwriting for Pre-Approval.
  • Obtaining all necessary documents and information.
  • Keeping all involved parties up-to-date on the status of the loan.
