About The Position
Dakota News Live, the CBS affiliate in Bismarck, North Dakota, is seeking a Morning News Anchor/Producer to help produce and anchor local newscasts. The role shapes morning news coverage, develops story ideas, writes and produces newscasts, and delivers local news to viewers across Western North Dakota. The position may also contribute reporting, cover major events and breaking news, support digital platforms, and work with the ABC station in Bismarck. The ideal candidate has a strong on-air presence, excellent writing skills, sound news judgment, and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment. A journalism, communications, or related degree is preferred, while demonstrated ability and experience are also valued. Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States and able to work for Dakota News Live without employment restrictions that would prevent them from accepting the position. Forum Communications Company is a family-owned media and technology organization operating across print and digital news, sports streaming, technology, broadcasting, commercial printing, and advertising. The company states that it does not offer employer sponsorship. The listed salary range is $50,000–$60,000.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Previous experience as a news anchor or broadcast reporter is strongly preferred.
- Active social media presence and ability to promote and support brand awareness on multiple platforms.
- Proven media personality and ability to remain comfortable and professional on camera.
- General knowledge of local, national, and international affairs.
- Passion for breaking news and current events.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to improvise on camera when necessary.
- Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines.
- Ethical and professional research, writing, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently as a team player.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States and able to accept the position without employment restrictions.
