About The Position

The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. The Morning Care Supervisor is responsible for providing a safe, welcoming, and structured environment for students before the start of the school day. This role involves supervising students during morning care hours, promoting positive behavior, facilitating age-appropriate activities, and ensuring a smooth transition to the school day. The Morning Care Supervisor serves as a positive role model and supports the mission and values of the school through professional and caring interactions with students, families, and staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working with children in a school, daycare, church, or similar setting preferred.
  • Ability to effectively supervise and manage groups of children in a calm and positive manner.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Dependable, patient, and professional with a positive attitude.
  • Practicing Catholic preferred; candidates of other faith traditions must be respectful of and supportive of the school's Catholic mission and values.
  • Ability to consistently work scheduled early morning hours.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and ensure the safety, well-being, and appropriate behavior of students during morning care hours.
  • Greet students and families in a warm, friendly, and professional manner each morning.
  • Monitor student interactions and encourage respectful, inclusive, and kind behavior.
  • Organize and facilitate age-appropriate activities such as reading, drawing, puzzles, and quiet games.
  • Maintain a calm, structured, and positive environment that helps students prepare for the school day.
  • Ensure an orderly transition of students to teachers or classroom aides at the start of the school day.
  • Follow all school safety procedures and promptly report concerns, incidents, or emergencies to school leadership.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and supervision records as required.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with parents, faculty, staff, and administrators.
  • Uphold school policies and model appropriate behavior at all times.
