About The Position

The Georgia State University Police Department is seeking a Monitoring Center Operator to join their team. This role involves monitoring alarms, CCTV footage, highly confidential information, and other surveillance equipment, responding to incidents, and maintaining accurate records of all activities and incidents. The Georgia State University Police Department is dedicated to the safety of its campuses and university community through professional community-oriented policing. They provide law enforcement, security, and safety services to ensure a safe environment for students, faculty, staff, and neighbors. The department is accredited by CALEA, IACLEA, and the State of Georgia Law Enforcement Certification Program.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree; or a high school diploma or GED and four years of customer service, administrative or office experience; or a combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Promptly respond to alarms, security breaches and other emergencies.
Coordinate with security personnel, law enforcement, and emergency services as needed.
Dispatch security personnel to incident locations and provide necessary information for effective response.
Maintain accurate logs and reports of all monitored activities, incidents and responses.
Document and report any security breaches, incidents, or anomalies observed during monitoring.
Ensure all data is stored securely and in compliance with GSU polices and regulations.
Communicates effectively with various safety and first responders across campuses.
Provide clear and concise information and instructions during incidents.
Adhere to all GSU policies, procedures, and legal regulations related to security and monitoring.
Assists employees, visitors, and clients with security-related inquiries and concerns.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
