Monitor - Full-Time
About The Position
BASIS Austin is seeking a Full-Time School Monitor to join their team. The role of the Monitor is to oversee student activities during various times of the school day, including lunches, recesses, parking duty, and before and after school programs ('Early Bird' and 'Late Bird'). The position requires ensuring student safety, managing behavior, reporting issues, and responding to emergencies. Additionally, the Monitor may provide front office support and must maintain regular attendance. The role is part of a collaborative and professional learning community within the BASIS Texas Charter School system, which emphasizes subject expertise and academic freedom.
Requirements
- Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card and/or satisfactory applicable state background check
- High school diploma or higher
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a school or childcare environment preferred
Responsibilities
- Monitor students to ensure safety
- Oversee students' behavior during lunches, recesses, passing periods, and before and after school
- Report any unruly behavior to school management
- Inform supervisor of any damages to school property
- Respond to emergency situations, such as injuries or food allergies, with urgency
- Exercise sound judgement in carrying out duties
- Assist in front office support, as applicable
- Maintain regular, full, predictable attendance
- Supervise individual students and/or groups of students during structured and unstructured times
- Other duties as assigned
