About The Position

CAMBA is a community organization that offers over 180 integrated programs in Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. They serve over 72,000 individuals and families annually across 100 locations, with a significant portion being immigrants, refugees, and families living in poverty. The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), sponsored by the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development, places youth aged 16-21 in work experiences for seven weeks during July and August. CAMBA acts as a project sponsor, handling applications, intake, job development, and monitoring of employment for youth in various roles such as clerical, custodial, teacher's aides, library assistants, hospital, and recreational aides.

Requirements

  • Current undergraduate student.

Responsibilities

  • Through periodic telephone calls and site visits to employment locations, assure that youth clients are working appropriately with employers.

  • Provide conflict resolution between employers and employees, as needed.
  • Provide all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports.
