About The Position

Jupiter Medical Center is seeking a Monitor Technician to join their Monitored Telemetry team. This role is responsible for interpreting cardiac monitors and providing continuous cardiac monitoring observation and documentation of cardiac rhythm. The Monitor Tech communicates changes in cardiac rhythm to the charge nurse and primary nurse. The position requires a High School graduate or equivalent and at least 1 year of experience is preferred. A Basic Rhythm Strip interpretation exam with a pass score of 80% or higher and American Heart Association BLS Certification for Health Care Providers are also required.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year experience preferred.
  • Basic Rhythm Strip interpretation exam with a pass score of 80% or higher.
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification for Health Care Providers.
  • Requires sitting for long periods of time watching monitors, also stooping, bending, standing and stretching.
  • May require lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Must have manual dexterity for typing and computer data entry.
  • Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation, TB/PPD, Surveillance Program.
  • Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).

Responsibilities

  • Provides continuous cardiac monitoring observation and documentation of cardiac rhythm on a routine basis.
  • Communicates changes in the cardiac rhythm to the charge nurse and primary nurse.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
