Garden Grove Hospital Medical Center, a 167-bed community hospital, is seeking a Monitor Technician to join their award-winning team. Founded in 1982 and located in Southern California, the hospital is dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate healthcare. It has been recognized nationally for its quality and patient safety. The Monitor Technician is an unlicensed individual who performs indirect care in the department setting, primarily monitoring cardiac rhythms via direct cardiac monitors. This role also involves meeting the communication needs of the department, transcribing physician orders when CPOE and EMR are not in use, verifying that lab and radiology tests have been ordered and completed, preparing and compiling records in the ER, ordering supplies, and completing patient charts. The technician may assist nursing staff with indirect patient care duties as long as it does not interfere with their primary responsibility of dysrhythmia monitoring. Direct patient care may be provided under the supervision of an RN if the technician is a certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and meets specific competency requirements.
