We are seeking a Full Time Night Shift Monitor Technician to join our healthcare team. This role supports patient care on our 3South Telemetry Unit and plays a key part in maintaining patient safety and clinical communication. Under the direction of licensed nursing staff, the Monitor Technician provides continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring for telemetry patients and promptly reports any changes to the care team. The role also supports hands‑on patient care and daily clinical needs. Night Shift: 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Every other weekend and rotating holidays required.

Requirements

  • Full-time availability, including every other weekend and rotating holidays required.
  • Shift: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred; must be obtained within three (3) months of employment.
  • National Paramedic Certification preferred.
  • One to two years of telemetry monitoring experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
  • Obtain, document, and report vital signs and patient observations.
  • Monitor and document intake and output, including urine, stool, calorie counts, and patient weight.
  • Operate EKG equipment, including setup of multi‑lead monitors and rhythm strips.
  • Assist with telemetry monitoring and communicate rhythm changes to the care team.
  • Assist with enteral tube feedings under licensed nurse supervision.
  • Perform delegated procedures such as suctioning, tracheostomy care, chest physiotherapy, and incentive spirometry.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including mobility, hygiene, toileting, feeding, and repositioning.
  • Support patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Promote patient safety and maintain a clean, safe care environment.
  • Perform blood glucose monitoring and specimen collection.
  • Assist with venipuncture and IV access as directed by the registered nurse.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
