About The Position

The Monitor Technician (Monitor Tech) in the ICU at Jackson Purchase Medical Center provides essential support by performing telemetry monitoring under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role is crucial for the continuous observation of critically ill patients, ensuring timely identification and reporting of any changes in their condition. Requirements

• High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• Cardiac Telemetry Examination (within 30 days of hire).

Nice To Haves

• BLS (preferred)
• SRNA, CNA, EMT, LPN or Paramedic preferred

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of an RN, performs telemetry monitoring.
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs, identifying and promptly reporting abnormalities.
• Interpret and document telemetry data, including arrhythmias, per facility protocols.
• Maintain and troubleshoot monitoring equipment to ensure accurate readings.
• Communicate critical changes in patient condition to nursing staff and care teams.
• Ensure accurate patient data entry and maintain clear, timely documentation.
