The Monitor Technician, under the supervision of an RN, will perform telemetry monitoring. Requirements
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Handle with Care (HWC) is required within 6 months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
- Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
- Identifies and corrects for artifacts.
- Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
- Tests equipment for proper working order. Reports equipment problems to supervisor.
