About The Position

Join our Telemetry team! This role is great for individuals interested in heart rhythm monitoring and telemetry, offering a great teamwork environment with paid training. The Monitor Tech provides support services including basic computer keyboarding skills, assembling patient charts, coordinating with other departments for tests and procedures, and stocking supplies. The role involves monitoring and interpreting patient heart rhythms and vital signs, following set algorithm parameters, and responding to alarms with appropriate communication. The position requires knowledge of organizational policies and procedures. Depending on the location, duties may include reception tasks like answering phones and using multi-line telephone systems and spectra-links. The role demands organization, prioritization, stress management, attention to detail, good interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with team members. In some locations, the monitor tech may also provide continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients, summoning nursing staff when assistance is needed.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and interpreting patient heart rhythms and vital signs
  • Following set algorithm parameters that may raise alarms
  • Interpreting alarms and following through with appropriate communication
  • Using organizational policies and procedures
  • Distributing medications to licensed personnel (may be included)
  • Answering phones and using a multi-line telephone system and spectra-links (may be included)
  • Providing continuous observation and surveillance of assigned patients (depending on location)
  • Summoning nursing staff if the patient requires assistance
  • Basic computer keyboarding skills
  • Tearing down and assembling patient charts as appropriate
  • Calling other departments to inform them of ordered tests and procedures as needed
  • Stocking supplies
