About The Position

Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is hiring a Monitor Tech for the Intermediate Care/Step Down Unit. This is a full-time position with rotating shifts. The Monitor Tech observes, recognizes, interprets, evaluates, and documents EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients to detect deviations from the patient's norm. They promptly notify appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias, operate and utilize the monitoring system to its full capacity, and ensure the proper and safe functioning of the telemetry equipment. The 24-bed Intermediate Care Unit provides a dynamic and supportive environment for nurses who thrive in a fast-paced setting that bridges critical and acute care. This unit cares for patients with complex medical needs requiring close monitoring and specialized interventions, while fostering strong interdisciplinary collaboration and professional growth. The team focuses on clinical excellence, compassion, and teamwork.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or Equivalent
• EKG/Monitor Tech Certification/Licensure
• Completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course required upon hire.

Responsibilities
