About The Position

Performs continuous monitoring and an organized comprehensive method of documenting patient ECG rhythms/arrhythmias in conjunction with providing continuous video observation and surveillance of assigned patients. Verbally redirects patients from engaging in at risk behaviors and summons nursing staff when patients require assistance, assessment or interventions.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Successful completion of hospital approved arrhythmia interpretation class and a passing score on an arrhythmia interpretation screening test
• Understanding of basic medical terminology
• Basic computer proficiency including experience with Microsoft Windows and Office
• Demonstrated organizational, prioritizing and multitasking skills
• Capable of continuous monitoring of ECG and video monitoring on multiple screens at one time, remaining alert and focused
• Effective verbal communication skills; proficiency with the English language
• Uses discretion and courtesy
• Possesses a sense of urgency
• Prioritizes simultaneous situations

Nice To Haves

• Previous monitor tech experience preferred
• Previous experience with direct clinical patient care in a hospital environment preferred
