About The Position
The Monitor Technician is skilled in reading and interpreting cardiac monitors and arrhythmias.
Requirements
- Completion of Basic Arrhythmia course and pass dysrhythmia test.
- Current Basic Life Support Level C (Healthcare Provider) certification.
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
Nice To Haves
- Monitor Technician experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for clerical support on the patient care unit.
- Maintains accurate order entry transmission of physician’s orders to ancillary departments.
- Works under the direction of a licensed nurse.
- Accurately and timely transcribes all orders from the chart to order entry in Imed including CCU orders and DOU emergency orders.
- Utilizes computer skills for accurate unit census and order entry, and maintains all log books, (i.e. census, telemetry, consults).
