- One year of Monitor Technician experience
- Emergency Medical Technician: AZ, upon hire
- Certified EKG Tech, upon hire
Responsibilities
- Continuous observation and analysis of patients' cardiac rhythms to detect and report changes.
- Meticulously monitor EKG strips, identify arrhythmias, measure intervals, and promptly communicate critical findings to nursing staff and healthcare providers.
- Ensure accurate documentation.
- Read basic EKG tracings and identify potential/lethal arrhythmias.
- Measure important intervals of EKG strips.
- Check and maintain accurate settings of "yellow alarms" for each shift.
- Approve parameter changes by Physician order or an ECG certified RN.
- Continuously monitor and identify dry rhythm changes during a 12-hour shift.
- Properly admit a patient to the monitoring system including patients' last name/first initial, medical record, diagnosis, and physician's name.
