Responsible for continuous monitoring and interpretation of cardiac rhythms of assigned patients. The Centralized Monitor Technician is under the administrative supervision of the Director of the Centralized Monitoring Unit (CMU) and the direct supervision of the CMU Clinical Manager, a licensed nurse. Must be proficient in reading cardiac rhythms, able to remain alert and attentive to all patients monitored, be able to work under stressful conditions, and maintain the ability to effectively communicate rhythm and/or vital sign deviances to the appropriate nursing staff. Must be aware of the escalation process for critical rhythm reporting and be willing to follow it properly. Must maintain all associated logs and other paperwork throughout the day. Must be familiar with hospital policies and procedures. Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.
