About The Position

This is a part-time Monitor Tech position with Advocate Health, working 24 hours per week on a day shift, 12-hour schedule from 7 am to 7 pm. The role involves ensuring continuous telemetry monitoring, maintaining documentation, and communicating any dysrhythmias or rhythm changes promptly. The Monitor Technologist is responsible for ensuring monitoring equipment functions correctly and staying knowledgeable about dysrhythmia monitoring. The position also includes participation in quality improvement projects and supporting age-appropriate care delivery while promoting efficient use of fiscal resources.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
Successful completion of an approved dysrhythmia course during first week of hire and must pass dysrhythmia test during first week of orientation.
Knowledge of various dysrhythmias
Knowledge of medical terminology
Basic computer skills
Strong communication skills
Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stretching, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
Must speak and understand English in good understandable terms.
Must have manual and finger dexterity.
Physical abilities testing required.

Responsibilities

Ensures continuous telemetry monitoring is established and documentation is maintained.
Ensures monitoring equipment is functioning correctly.
Ensures dysrhythmias or rhythm changes are communicated timely.
Maintains knowledge and skills related to dysrhythmia monitoring.
Participates in quality improvement projects.
Supports provision of age/developmental appropriate care in accordance with Age/Developmental Specific Care Guidelines for the age groups served.
Promotes efficient use of fiscal resources.
