About The Position
This full-time position in the House Telemetry department at Piedmont Fayette Hospital involves continuous ECG monitoring through the assessment of EKG strips. The role requires accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias, including measurement of P-R intervals, QRS widths, and ST segment deviations. The technician will also be responsible for troubleshooting monitoring problems, identifying causes, and implementing solutions. Additionally, the role includes maintaining inventories of supplies, hardware, and telemetry transmitters, ensuring they are in working condition, and reporting any malfunctions promptly.
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
- Successful completion of PHC telemetry monitoring competency assessment within 30 Days Required
Nice To Haves
- 1 year of experience as a monitor technician
- Certification as a Certified Cardiac Monitor Telemetry Technician (CCMTT) through the American Education Certification Association
- Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International
Responsibilities
- Provide continuous ECG monitoring through assessment of EKG strips.
- Accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias interpretation including: measurement of P-R intervals, QRS widths, and ST segment deviations.
- Troubleshoot monitoring problems, recognize monitoring problems, identify probable causes, and seek solutions to correct the problem.
- Maintain inventories, supplies, hardware and telemetry transmitters in working condition.
- Appropriately report malfunctions promptly as applicable.
