This job, under general supervision, leads operational functions related to staff development and training. Assists in the implementation of policies and procedures required for success and participates in initiatives to improve processes serving internal and external customers. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 months of experience as a Monitor Technician.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (Basic Life Support (BLS) is NOT REQUIRED for the following cost centers 1182009 Telemetry Monitor SOSH JH07 and 1182131 Esitter and Telesitter SOSH SC05)
  • EKG/Telemetry National Certification or must obtain EKG/Telemetry National Certification within 6 months from date of accession to Monitor Tech Lead role.
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily department activities, serves as point person for department in supervisor's absence and trains new employees.
  • Works closely with department management and team members to allocate resources daily among department.
  • Monitors and tracks time and attendance in accordance with department policies.
  • Resolves customer concerns and participates in initiatives to improve customer service.
  • Assists with inventory management.
  • Relieves monitor technicians for breaks.
  • Conducts department rounding to assist with real time escalations.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
