Responsible for performing secretarial, receptionist, and clerical duties. Organizes and assists the unit in operating smoothly. Has knowledge of assigned tasks and equipment necessary to meet the specific needs of the patient population served. Communicates appropriately and clearly to charge nurse, co-workers and physicians. Consults other departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient’s needs. Answers and directs calls and messages for the unit. Responds to the demands of changing patient census and acuity in a positive effectiveness. Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for continuous improvement. Practices quality service as evidenced through QI results and patient satisfaction. Maintains positive customer relations with patients, families, and co-workers.
