About The Position

This position is responsible for the proper counting, sorting, and handling of coin bags weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as the proper storage of pallets of boxed coin. The role requires working in a secured money room/vault environment with little to no exposure to outside light. Responsibilities include conducting deposit verification and/or change order preparation using specialized counting equipment and procedures. The job involves reading, counting, adding, subtracting, writing, and recording numerical information accurately, and utilizing a calculator by touch. Physical requirements include bending, squatting, stooping, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, pushing, and pulling as needed, and maintaining unrestricted wrist, hand, and finger dexterity. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • General account maintenance procedures
  • Safety and security practices related to handling CATS fare box funds/assets
  • Change order preparation procedures
  • Currency, coin, and check deposit preparation for Finance Department processing
  • Separation and organization of currency, coin, and check deposits received from fare boxes
  • Ability to sign and record numbers by hand and make entries on records and reports
  • Ability to walk continuously between bins, vaults, booths, and counters
  • Ability to sort individual cargo items by routes and fare boxes
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in banking, cash handling, or at least two (2) years of experience in a related field
