About The Position

Momentum is the exclusive semi-private rooftop lounge located atop the Cascade Hotel, offering unparalleled 260-degree views of Kansas City's Country Club Plaza. Designed to deliver a sophisticated and elevated guest experience, Momentum blends luxury hospitality, premium beverage offerings, curated events, and an exclusive membership program. The Momentum Lounge Manager is responsible for the overall operation, performance, and success of Momentum. This leader will oversee daily lounge operations, membership growth and retention, guest satisfaction, special events, financial performance, and team development. The ideal candidate is a hospitality professional with a passion for luxury service, relationship building, event execution, and creating memorable guest experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience in luxury hospitality, private clubs, upscale restaurants, lounges, hotels, or event management.
  • Proven experience in guest relations, membership development, sales, or event management.
  • Strong understanding of food and beverage operations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong sales and networking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Strong organizational and event planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Proficiency with hotel, membership, and point-of-sale systems.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as business demands.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all daily operations of Momentum.
  • Ensure exceptional service standards are consistently delivered to all guests and members.
  • Maintain the lounge's upscale atmosphere, appearance, cleanliness, and overall guest experience.
  • Monitor service flow and operational efficiency while maintaining luxury hospitality standards.
  • Collaborate with hotel leadership to align Momentum operations with the overall Cascade Hotel guest experience.
  • Serve as the primary ambassador for Momentum's membership program.
  • Actively recruit new members through networking, community engagement, and strategic outreach.
  • Develop initiatives designed to increase membership enrollment, engagement, and retention.
  • Build meaningful relationships with members and VIP guests to foster loyalty and repeat visitation.
  • Address member concerns and service recovery opportunities promptly and professionally.
  • Create personalized experiences for members, hotel guests, and visitors.
  • Ensure guest feedback is actively monitored and acted upon.
  • Resolve guest concerns and service issues in a timely manner.
  • Establish service standards that reflect the exclusive nature of Momentum.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute private events, member functions, networking events, wine tastings, cocktail experiences, and special programming.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Hotel Operations teams to maximize event opportunities.
  • Manage event logistics, staffing requirements, vendor coordination, and execution.
  • Develop unique programming that enhances membership value and drives revenue.
  • Manage revenue generation opportunities through memberships, events, food and beverage sales, and partnerships.
  • Monitor labor costs, scheduling, payroll, inventory, and departmental expenses.
  • Assist in developing annual budgets and forecasting.
  • Analyze business trends and implement strategies to improve profitability.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop Momentum team members.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and exceptional service.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and service expectations.
  • Represent Momentum and Cascade Hotel at community events, networking functions, and industry gatherings.
  • Build relationships with local businesses, organizations, and influencers to enhance brand awareness.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop promotions, social media content opportunities, and member communications.
