The Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, and compliance of assigned department in order to achieve corporate objectives. This role is highly visible, communicating regularly with senior leadership across the Arbor enterprise. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholder groups and cross-functional teams is essential.

Requirements

  • Meet CLIA requirements (CFR 42 493.1483), and CAP requirement (CYP.08100), when applicable
  • Meet CAP requirements (GEN.53600)
  • Bachelor’s degree or Current certification as Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist or appropriate categorical certification through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technologists (AMT) or American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB)
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in high complexity testing in the designated specialty
  • Relevant leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of services, delivery methods, workflows and procedures as needed
  • Assesses and monitors the workload of departmental employees and implements scheduling per business needs
  • Responsible for assuring compliance of procedures and processes and will maintain CAP readiness
  • Manage or verify that employee compliance is current
  • Manage or verify that employee training is current
  • Translate corporate goals into departmental goals to achieve key performance indicators
  • Serves as an escalation point for staff and clients as needed
  • Ensures staff is performing at acceptable levels and addresses issues of low performance when required
  • Engages, coaches and mentors team members
  • May be required to perform key responsibilities of departmental employees as business needs demand
  • Other duties as assigned
