About The Position

The Molding Technician is responsible for basic and advanced equipment and process set-up, changeovers, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance and basic repair and rebuild. Equipment includes Injection Molding Machines and associated ancillary equipment.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma, or GED required.
Up to 3 years of manufacturing experience.
Strong mechanical ability and analytical skills.
Sound judgment in the execution of technical/troubleshooting issues.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills to facilitate communication at various levels and areas within the organization.
Understanding of computers and computerized controls.
Ability to learn new technologies; understand and perform continuous improvement activities.

Nice To Haves

Technical school background desirable.
Previous experience with plastic injection molding equipment desirable.

Responsibilities

Perform machine/mold safety checks; perform mold changeovers.
Perform cycle checks, adjust business plan and prioritize workload according to business needs.
Make accurate process adjustments to alleviate non-conforming parts.
Perform mold start-up/QC Inspection; set up gages to perform QC checks.
Carry out basic cleaning of molds; complete preventive maintenance.
Utilize MVP in relation to PM tasks.
Maintain 5S standards in assigned work areas.
Assist in the training of new Technicians. Assist Operators as required.
Process material changeovers – fill barrels, mix materials and ensure traceability.
Execute basic functions of the Shibaura Injectvisor operator controller – load programs and process adjustments.
Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
