This position provides an advanced level of mold setup services, detail, and problem-solving. It involves developing solutions and alternatives to assigned molding problems. The role ensures valid processes on mold machines, auxiliary equipment, and robots, and verifies that correct materials are utilized, safety checks are performed, and room organization and cleanliness are maintained. The technician troubleshoots throughout the molding process to ensure maximum machine utilization, production, and quality. They also perform safety checks, cleaning of molds, greasing, and other various maintenance tasks. The role requires reading blueprints, electrical schematics, hydraulic schematics, and ladder logic. Additionally, it involves changing inserts and cores as required, recommending improvements to molds and equipment, and training molding operators in the safe operation of machines and equipment. Ensuring documents are filled out correctly and stopping production if there is a problem with the product, personnel safety, or potential damage to equipment/tooling/process are key responsibilities. The technician must ensure safety and housekeeping policies are followed, as well as engineering and maintenance standards, procedures, Molding MPS, GPS, QAP, and standard operating procedures. In the supervisor's absence, this role may assist by assigning work and ensuring proper and efficient completion of assignments and processes, and providing supervisor input regarding employee work performance. The technician may also assist Mold Engineers in testing repaired tools and/or validating new tools.
