The Molding Operator is responsible for molding production in an assigned area and performing minor maintenance activities on assigned presses. This role involves operating injection molding presses to supply downstream equipment with molded components, including inspecting components and requesting technical support to maintain part quality. The operator will also conduct minor maintenance on presses and collaborate with other team members to ensure equipment runs smoothly during breaks and call-outs. The position requires operating multi-cavity injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment to manufacture products that meet quality specifications and rated output, placing surplus molded components into inventory, and maintaining a thorough knowledge of all products, raw materials, and quality specifications. Additionally, the operator must keep machinery, work areas, and floors neat and orderly, comply with GMP requirements, and perform thorough product inspections, making appropriate quality-related decisions. The role requires working effectively in a team with limited supervision and being familiar with all relevant controlled documents, preventative maintenance task lists, and equipment manuals.
