About The Position

The Molding Operator is responsible for removing parts from various injection molding machines and performing cosmetic functions such as degating, sanding, flaming, and hand trimming. The role also involves performing assembly functions, operating a tape machine or case cutter, moving materials, packaging component parts, and maintaining production records. The operator must also maintain equipment and keep the work area clean, and follow company policies related to IATF 1649 and ISO 14001. The ability to stop the process in the event of nonconformity is crucial. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 1+ year experience in Automotive Industry
  • Basic Math Skills
  • Reading and Comprehension Skills
  • Regular need to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk; hear; taste; and smell.
  • Regular need to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Regular vision requirements include the ability for close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjusting focus.
  • Physical ability to lift 35 lbs.
  • Standing, twisting, bending and walking.
  • Exposure to manufacturing/plant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Removing parts from various injection molding machines.
  • Cleaning, inspecting, and performing cosmetic functions on component parts, including degating, sanding, flaming, and hand trimming.
  • Performing assembly functions on some component parts.
  • Operating a tape machine or case cutter.
  • Moving materials and boxes.
  • Packaging component parts into cardboard containers, part racks, or totes.
  • Maintaining records of production and scrap figures.
  • Maintaining equipment and keeping the work area clean and orderly.
  • Following and supporting company IATF 1649 and ISO 14001 policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Having the ability to stop the process in the event of Nonconformity.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
