About The Position

The Mold Technician is responsible for supporting production by identifying and troubleshooting machine issues, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintaining a clean work environment. This role also involves technical support for mold installation and removal, system changes, press setup, and troubleshooting auxiliary equipment. General responsibilities include working various shifts, protecting company information, adhering to safety protocols, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Two year technical degree and two years processing experience -OR- 3-5 years processing experience with six months experience as press operator with mold set-up training
  • Must have experience or demonstrate ability to perform all tasks required for the Mold Technician Trainee position
  • Thorough knowledge of thermoplastic materials and injection molding processes and machines
  • Lifting up to 70 pounds
  • Bending and walking
  • 20/20 Vision with or without corrective lenses

Responsibilities

  • Identify problems regarding machine functions and report all malfunctions to Process Engineers and Molding Supervisor
  • Assist Process Engineers as necessary
  • Work with the Quality Assurance Department to ensure all quality levels are acceptable
  • Assist Material Handler as necessary
  • Clean and organize molding machines and work areas
  • Fill out press monitor logs at required intervals
  • Record scrap through appropriate systems
  • Record scrap through real time reporting
  • Document all process changes following proper procedures
  • Complete daily paperwork as required
  • Print work orders for the upcoming orders
  • Install prepared molds into press
  • Remove molds from the press at the end of production/ sample runs
  • Change orders and lot numbers in Material Requirement Planning (MRP) system within or during a continuous run
  • Set all press settings prior to running molds
  • Start up presses for production runs per daily scheduling
  • Trouble shoot automation and auxiliary equipment
  • Install water lines, air lines, core pull systems, hot runner systems, or any other auxiliary equipment
  • Work on various shifts or weekends when necessary to meet customer requirement or fulfill staffing requirements
  • Responsibility to protect Donatelle confidential information and Intellectual Property
  • Follow safety requirements as outlined in the safety manual
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned
