The Mold Tech II (CNC Machinist) sets up and operates CNC Machines and other shop equipment to manufacture jigs, fixtures and components in support of manufacturing operations. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of general machining experience with a variety of materials (steel, aluminum, plastics, etc.)
  • Experience with Zeroing and offsetting work pieces, Tramming, De-burring and Squaring
  • Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel in a professional and effective manner
  • Self-motivated and works with minimum supervision
  • Basic ability to read/write/speak English
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Metric and Inch Measurement System
  • Able to read and understand all operating procedures and applicable technical information
  • Able to measure and inspect using a variety of measurement devices – Caliper, Indicator & Micrometer
  • Familiar with all basic metal working equipment – Band Saw, Horizontal Saw, Grinder, etc.

  • Machinist Certificate
  • MasterCam Certification
  • Experience with Haas CNC Machine

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates CNC Milling Machines independently.
  • Sets up and operates Manual Mills, Lathes and other general shop equipment.
  • Selects proper cutting tools and calculation/specification of speeds and feeds for given materials.
  • Produces parts within required tolerances.
  • Provides finished part verification.
  • Take care of routine machine maintenance, keeps work area organized and in neat condition.
  • Follows all safety rules regarding machine operation and proper guarding.
  • Maintains records on work orders handled and quantities produced.
  • Work to a schedule and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned
