Mold Shop Maintenance Technician

About The Position

Performs several maintenance functions within the tooling and mold maintenance team including repairing, maintaining, and cleaning molding equipment. Supports production by maintaining all molds in a production ready state. Performs cleaning, tear-down, evaluation and repair of existing molds within the facility. Performs cavitation and insert changes on compatible molds. Documents cleanings, corrective actions, modifications, spare parts installed, and other relevant information for all molds within the facility using computer based systems (SAP). Conducts cleaning, lubrication and polishing of applicable mold components. Operates lift truck, overhead crane, and related equipment to lift, move, and handle molds. Uses micrometer, calipers, and fixed or adjustable gauges as needed to check that mold components meet specified tolerances. Sets up and operates various shop machinery including grinders, drills, mills, lathes and various hand tools. Must be able to complete job assignments in an efficient and timely manner. Other duties as required. Know where applicable system documents are located. Understand and complies with all company policies and procedures regarding, safety, ISO, GMP’s. Communicate system non-conformances to managers or supervisors.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of related experience; preferably in Injection/Extrusion Blow Molding.
  • Understands Good Documentation Practice (GDP)
  • Must be a team player and able to demonstrate willingness and ability to provide assistance to co-workers.
  • Basic mechanical skills and experience using tools
  • High School Diploma or GED; Technical School preferred. Or equivalent work experience.
