About The Position

Under the direction of the Process Manager, the Mold Setter is responsible for performing a variety of molding machine set ups including ancillary equipment related to the molding process. This is a full-time position with an hourly rate of $22, working Monday-Friday from 6am to 2:30pm.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or equivalent is preferred.
  • Plastic Injection Molding experience preferred
  • Basic computer knowledge using Microsoft suite.
  • Experience operating scanner tools and platforms a plus
  • Minimum of six (6) months experience driving power equipment
  • Satisfactory pass forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklift in an on-site test
  • Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license
  • Stand, bend, stretch for hours at a time and lift finished products overhead.
  • Must be able to lift between 37 and 50 lbs at a time.
  • Read and comprehend written instructions and ensure instructions are met and achieved upon review of completed product.
  • Must be able to properly record quality related concerns as they arise.
  • Ability to be able to visually inspect finished product; view stress fractures, bubbles, color accuracy and other quality metrics to ensure production and client metrics are met.
  • Ability to communicate in professional tone and manner in both verbal and written means.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a collaborative team setting.
  • Ability to multi-task with a high sense of urgency
  • Ability to be flexible for weekends or “call in” situations due to emergent business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for molding machine set up including ancillary equipment as related to the molding process
  • Install dyes on machines according to work order specifications
  • Utilize and understand all applicable subcomponents of the production order packet
  • Performs all the functions and responsibilities of a material handler
  • Performs mold changes and inserts changes to molds
  • Uses crane hoist to perform mold changes and maintenance of molding machines
  • Sets up End of Arm tooling for robotic part removal and trimming
  • Responds to machine alarms in a timely manner
  • Backup to the Maintenance Department
  • Services equipment as needed, reporting mechanical or electrical concerns to manager
  • Performs packing and quality duties as business needs dictate
  • Performs housekeeping duties as requested
  • Comply with all safety rules, OSHA guidelines, GMP and PEE guidelines as well as any departmental/line specific work instructions and protocol
  • Comply with the Employee Handbook and all other Edge Plastics policies and protocols
  • Required to work flexible hours including weekends and 2nd shift as business dictates
