About The Position

Kohler Co. manufacturing teams are hiring! We’re looking for passionate individuals to join a culture dedicated to safety and innovation, with opportunities for advancement within our Sheridan. This role involves crafting excellence by performing all duties associated within the department, following instructions, and communicating effectively. The Mold Setter will read blueprints and bills of materials (BOM) for product specifications, and must have knowledge of dryers, blenders, and granulators. The position requires installing and adjusting holding devices, fastening specified molding tools, and setting machine speeds and feeds according to the type of operation. The individual will start the machine to obtain the first run workpiece and verify dimensional tolerances. A key responsibility includes assisting with process problems, such as cycle optimization using scientific molding principles, and instructing operators or other workers in machine setup and operation. The role also involves setting up machines and equipment other than machine tools.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work in the US without restrictions or sponsorship.
  • Effective communication skills for manufacturing production processes.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the position.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Consistent attendance and work performance.
  • Successful completion of a drug screen and background check.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3 years of Plastic Mold Setting manufacturing experience.
  • Must have two year technical certification or eighteen months related training
  • Collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to read blue prints and have mathematical knowledge to calculate figures
  • Must have SAP manufacturing knowledge
  • Must be able to lift and or move 25 pounds-50 pounds frequently.
  • Must have experience with robots and sprue pickers.
  • Knowledge of Plastics resins such as ABS, PP,PE, Nylon, Acrylics, GFYN, Acetal, Isoplast, Noral, Dynaflex, Santopreame

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties associated within the department.
  • Follow instructions and communicate effectively.
  • Read blueprint, bill of materials (BOM for product specifications.
  • Installs and adjust holding device and fastens specified molding tools in position.
  • Selects and set speed and feed of machine according to type of operation.
  • Starts machine to obtain first run work piece and verifies dimensional tolerances.
  • Assist with process problems that may arise which include but are not limited cycle optimization using scientific molding principles.
  • Instructs Operators or other workers in machine setup and operation.
  • Sets up machines and equipment other than machine tools.
