About The Position

This position coordinates and assists with the activities of associates engaged in maintaining and operating all equipment. The Mold Setter is responsible for machine setup, safe operation, and ensuring equipment safety features are functional. They will also manage scrap disposal, rework completion, and assist with process stations on all equipment. This role involves performing lock-out/tag-out procedures, reporting quality and safety issues, and accurate data entry. The Mold Setter will maintain 5S3D, Kaizen, and SQDCME elements, inspect parts for conformance, and train associates on machine adjustments and safety processes. They will also analyze and resolve work problems, follow directions during emergencies, and support TPM goals and continuous improvement projects for EHS. Additionally, the role requires performing maintenance and adjustments on equipment, basic TPM activities, operating heavy equipment like cranes and forklifts, and moving materials.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Two years manufacturing experience
  • Knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Office Word and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Pareto Charts.
  • Ability to read and analyze information.
  • Ability to write reports and work instructions.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
  • Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Know all potential work and environmental hazards.
  • Safety glasses and any other required PPE in accordance with the SWI for the jobs you may be doing.

Responsibilities

  • Train and assist associates on performing preventive maintenance assignments.
  • Perform machine set up, operate machinery in a safe manner, and ensure equipment safety features are in place and functioning properly.
  • Make sure scrap is recorded accurately and disposed of daily and Ensure rework is completed at end of day.
  • Fill in for associates when necessary.
  • Understand and be able to operate and assist individual process stations on all equipment.
  • Perform lock-out and tag-out (LOTO) procedures for clearing all equipment faults and restoring machine energy in accordance with established LOTO procedures.
  • Inform Team Leader or Production Manager of any and all quality/ safety issues.
  • Accurate completion of paperwork and data entry.
  • Maintain 5S3D, Kaizen and all elements of SQDCME.
  • Inspects and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Train and assist all associates on adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards. Train associates on safety related processes.
  • Analyzes and provide inputs to resolves work problems or assists associates in solving work problems.
  • Follows lead operators and team leader’s direction during emergencies. Understands and follows the response procedures for all types of emergency events.
  • Assist on monitoring and maintaining all TPM Goals (Safety, Scrap, Customer Defects, In-Process Defects and Downtime Frequency).
  • Supports and participates in continual improvement projects for Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS).
  • Must be able to do maintenance on the equipment in their specific work areas. As well as make necessary adjustments to the machines to produce quality parts.
  • Must be able to do basic TPM activities for the equipment in their work area.
  • Operate heavy equipment including cranes and forklifts.
  • Move new material, waste, and nonconforming product on level ground, stairs, and ladders.
