Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Mold Press Setup for (3) years
  • Be able to setup and start any mold, machine, or support equipment that is necessary to produce parts that meet production requirements.
  • Understand process sheets, work orders, and other documents necessary for the position.
  • Bridge crane certification, Lock-out/Tag-out certification, forklift certification or ability to get certification within 60 days.
  • Able to select proper component parts required for a mold or work center.
  • Able to read micrometers, calipers, pi tapes, and other measurement devices utilized.
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance tasks related to molds and mold bases at various work centers and in mold base prep area.
  • Ability to identify and report malfunctions in the operation of equipment.
  • Capable of working with setup team members and quality inspectors to resolve quality issues.
  • Good communication skills with a focus on listening and striving to be viewed as a person who treats all people with respect and fairness.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company safety rules and guidelines
  • Sustain the 6S system throughout all work areas and on the production floor.
  • Report or recommend any new ideas or changes to improve safety or efficiencies of mold preparation changeovers.
  • Understand the assembly and dis-assembly of all injection molds. This includes cavities, cores, water baffles, brass water spirals, ejectors, etc.
  • Report or recommend any new ideas or changes to improve safety or efficiencies of production processes.
  • Maintain organization of molds and components (e.g. core pins, heat indicators, size buttons, and date buttons).
  • Train with Process Technician to gain experience in processing of products in order to assist setup personnel with troubleshooting, as required.
  • Maintain organization of all tools and auxiliary equipment.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing Initiatives, as required
  • Clean mold bases, cavities, core pins, and all mold component.
  • Ensure cavities, cores, etc., once cleaned, are spray with no-rust and stored in designated location following completion of mold prep.
  • Requires regular attendance per the schedule assigned by the supervisor.
  • Ensure that all issues related to any type of equipment and/or tools are documented and submitted to the appropriate groups and the shift supervisor.
  • Follow ISO procedures in order to correct or repair the issue.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Proper documentation should be recorded in the mold preparation log book. Also, a tag should be attached to the mold with the same information.
  • Follow directions of department supervisors, managers, and company leadership
  • Follow all lockout, tag out procedures prior to changeovers.
  • Observe and follow all company policies and directions
  • Assist setup team members, as needed, on issues during setups or on issues found with molds.
  • Adhere to ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and OSHAS 18001 certification requirements
  • Learn and develop troubleshooting guidelines in order to correct or improve problems that could lead to a defective part.
