About The Position

Horton, Inc., a global airflow industry leader in reliability, service and innovation has an opening for a 3rd shift, Mold Operator to work in our Westminster, SC location. Standard work hours are Sunday-Wednesday 9:30 pm - 7:30 am. Occasional overtime may be required. Pay starts at $19.40 per hour and depends on experience. The Mold Operator position reports directly to the Production Manager and must work in coordination with co-workers to be effective. This position is primarily responsible to produce quality product by operating different types of machinery to produce plastic molded products.

Requirements

  • Previous relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to work 3rd shift.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Must be able to work well in a group and individually.
  • Some degree of mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. No Visa sponsorship provided now or in the future for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily tasks including reading and following instructions on routings and work instructions for each job.
  • Check stock bins for adequate supplies of sub-assembly, parts and any other items needed.
  • Contact material handler or Production Lead/Supervisor if shortages exist.
  • Complete all departmental paperwork, such as routings, assembly tickets, downtime tracking sheets, production status sheets and checklists.
  • Communicate questions and problems to Lead/Supervisor.
  • Follow work instructions or routings.
  • Packaging of product, if applicable.
  • Responsible for the safe operation of machinery used for assembly components. Machinery may vary from hand tools to large stamping or molding presses as determined by area.
  • Perform frequent quality checks as directed by management or a Quality Representative.
  • May be required to use quality inspection tools such as gauges, micrometers and/or calipers.
  • Continuously inspect part quality.
  • Relay all information about current job to oncoming shift.
  • Maintain production rate on each job.
  • Load and unload presses when ran in manual mode.
  • Responsible for the operation and set-up of all simple machines within their assigned area (Ex: pizza cutter/end mill).
  • Move pallets with assemblies to designated staging areas.
  • Ensure data accuracy before entering scrap/production into Oracle.
  • Inspect presses for any mechanical issues and report immediately to leadership.
  • Elevate issues to management, including discrepancies.
  • Fill in as Operator in other departments as directed/rotated.
  • Train others, as needed.
  • Practice 6S and always maintain clean and safe work areas.
