About The Position

Under the direction of the Tool Room Supervisor, the Mold Maker - Youth Apprentice assists Lead Mold Makers with constructing new molds and repairing existing molds for production. The role supports HellermannTyton's Quality and EHS certifications by following corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and documentation requirements. The apprentice learns moldmaking fundamentals, tooling-problem identification, and the use of specified equipment, with opportunities to help build tooling and components as training progresses and under mold maker supervision.

Requirements

• Pursuing a high school diploma; preferably a junior or senior in good academic standing.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions from the supervisor and mold makers.
• Good note-taking skills to recall prior instructions.
• Communicate scheduled hours to coordinate with the school schedule.
• An offer is contingent on successfully completing a background check; checks may include SSN/SIN validation, education and employment verification, criminal check, driving history, and drug test, depending on the position.

Responsibilities

• Learn moldmaking fundamentals under the guidance of moldmakers.
• Learn to identify and communicate possible tooling problems to a moldmaker or supervisor.
• Receive training to operate overhead cranes, manual mills, and surface grinders.
• Manufacture components for molds and fixtures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
• As training progresses, help build new tooling and components under mold maker supervision.
• Follow corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and documentation requirements supporting Quality and EHS certifications.
