Requirements

  • Five years’ minimum experience required as a Mold Maker.
  • Associate’s degree required (Technical degree preferred)
  • Completion of Electrical troubleshooting course
  • Has a sound understanding of plastics processing requirements for molds, such as venting, heating, cooling, polishing; nozzle, sprue, and runner configuration; and steel plating applications or requirements.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form.
  • Must be able to communicate technical information between tool design and manufacturing activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Benching, texturing, welding, EDM, CNC working knowledge are preferred.
  • Experience with EDM and CNC preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, assemble, and repair tools and molds, utilize precision measuring instruments to ensure all components meet specifications and function correctly.
  • Identify root causes on mold / parts defect, perform a high range of repairs on medium to high complexity tools and be able to plan and perform a PM properly.
  • Experience in hot runner, cores, sensors installation and service, three-plate, two-shot tooling, water circuits, tool electrical maintenance.
  • Independently executes full-cycle tooling maintenance, cleaning, and rapid repair
  • Able to work in molding machines tools following all safety requirements.
  • Utilize onsite machining to rework worn tooling and fabricate custom, simple tools.
  • Ensure molds returning from maintenance run productively without recurring errors and are able to evaluate tooling for preventive maintenance programs.
  • Works in a steady, professional manner, interacts well when training others and maintains housekeeping to a 6S environment
