About The Position

Parmatech is seeking an experienced Mold Maker / Tooling Specialist to join its manufacturing team in Petaluma, California. The position works in an advanced manufacturing environment using precision tooling to support production of complex metal components for medical, aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. The role involves building, modifying, repairing, maintaining, and improving production molds and tooling, while collaborating with Engineering and Production to address technical challenges and improve tooling performance and manufacturing processes.

Requirements

Experienced in mold making or tooling work.
Ability to solve mechanical and tooling problems.
Attention to detail and ability to produce precision results.

Responsibilities

Construct, modify, repair, clean, and maintain production molds and tooling.
Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine shop equipment, including mills, lathes, grinders, EDM, and welding equipment.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, tool prints, sketches, and work orders.
Select, machine, and work with tool steels and other materials according to application and performance requirements.
Machine, fit, assemble, align, and adjust tooling to meet precise dimensions and tolerances.
Create or modify CNC programs as needed.
Use precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and other inspection equipment.
Troubleshoot tooling issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective repairs.
Perform preventive maintenance and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Share technical knowledge and machining techniques with fellow team members.
Collaborate with Engineering and Production to improve tooling performance and manufacturing processes.
