About The Position

The Tool Maker Apprentice will work under the guidance of experienced toolmakers to learn the skills required to build, repair, and maintain precision plastic injection molds. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop a career in precision manufacturing and machining. The Apprentice supports day-to-day manufacturing and production activities while gaining hands-on experience in an operations environment. The role focuses on learning standard production processes, safety practices, and quality requirements while contributing to operational efficiency.

Requirements

Enrollment in or completion of a vocational/technical program in machining, manufacturing, or a related field preferred
Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on work
Ability to read basic technical drawings
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Good communication and teamwork skills

Nice To Haves

Exposure to machining processes (manual or CNC)
Familiarity with measuring tools and inspection methods
Basic understanding of metals and materials used in tooling

Responsibilities

Assist in the manufacturing, assembly, and repair of molds
Learn to read and interpret blueprints
Operate manual mills and surface grinders
Measure and inspect components using precision tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators)
Support troubleshooting and maintenance of existing tooling
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Follow all safety protocols and company procedures
Participate in training programs and skill development activities
May perform other duties as assigned
