About The Position

Fabrication and repair of various metal parts by using different types of metal altering machines such as punch presses, drill presses, milling centers, steel welding machines, aluminum welding machines, saws, ironworkers, shear, etc.

Requirements

At least two years of experience welding steel and aluminum.
Ability to understand and read blueprints.
Experience with welding machine setup, including different types of welding guns and saw setups.
Proficiency in using different types of measuring tools such as calipers, dial indicators, and tape measures.
Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made and asking questions as appropriate.
Strong problem-solving skills to resolve issues or errors.
Ability to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
Ability to manage one's own time and respect the time of others.
Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
Ability to work effectively as an individual or with a team.
Ability to perform tasks under time pressure deadlines.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature.
Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time while performing job duties.
Must be able to always wear proper safety equipment while in the machine shop.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds when necessary.

Responsibilities

Fabricate and repair various metal parts using machines such as punch presses, drill presses, milling centers, steel welding machines, aluminum welding machines, saws, ironworkers, and shears.
Monitor and stock shop supplies necessary to complete projects.
Use different types of measuring tools such as calipers, dial indicators, and tape measures.
Perform welding machine setup, including different types of welding guns and saw setups.
Keep the work area clean and orderly.
Work with Engineering on upcoming prototypes.
Perform daily cleanup and inspection of tools needed to complete job tasks.
Follow the instruction of the Manager/Supervisor/Lead.
Inspect all parts to ensure they are complete and meet quality standards.
Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Comply with all OSHA and safety procedures.
